The Treasurer’s Office of Lake County have programs which a senior citizen 65 years or older who is having trouble paying their real estate taxes may defer all or part of their taxes on their homes if they qualify.  The deferral is a loan by the State with interest to be repaid after the death of the taxpayer, or at the time the property is sold.  For more information and applications you may contact the Lake County Treasurer’s office at (847) 377-2323 or review the Lake County Treasurers Office website.
